Radical Inclusivity
A Note from Julie Ouellette
Producing Artistic Director
The Commons is a place for community. Both on the stage and off, we're committed to building common ground and bridging the gaps that divide us.
A commitment to radical inclusivity means that we welcome everyone and we actively celebrate the things that make us unique. Regardless of race, gender, age, orientation, ability, religion, or anything else — no matter who you are or where you come from, there's a home for you at The Commons.
"Maybe now is the right time
for a new theater company that showcases our community
and our varied voices."

STAGE COMBAT
STORYTELLING THROUGH
What's the difference between good stage combat and great stage combat? How do you create fight sequences that are not only safe but compelling, nuanced, joyful, and keep you on the edge of your seat? And, most importantly, what makes stage combat actually FUN? The secret ingredient is story.
This 4-week beginner-friendly class will explore the building blocks of story. Students will learn in real time with a new combo being taught each week. Come play, fight, and explore with us. Let's make some stories.
QUEER. FEMINIST. TRAUMA INFORMED.
This is not your average stage combat class.
